We are a very small cat charity based in Waterthorpe, Sheffield who gained charity status back in August 2005. We can only take in a few cats at a time as the cats we have are in our own homes. We do not house cats in pens. They are kept in a home environment and rehomed from there. We are a relatively new rescue although I have years of experience with the RSPCA and Cats Protection. Many of the cats we take in may have behavioural problems and I work with them and their potential new owners. Education is a very important part of our rescue and that is why I am happy to share my experiences with behavioural problems and help wherever I can. Please feel free to contact me if you need any help. Thank you for your support. Love Wizz

Our Policies
It is our policy never to put a healthy cat or kitten to sleep. Many of the cats and kittens we take in have behavioural problems. All our cats are kept in a home environment and we work with them to overcome their fears or problems. Due to this we do not have the turnover of the larger rescues and therefore there will be times when we are unable to accept any animals from the general public, particularly at short notice.  Our animals are given the highest possible standard of care within a home environment and fed a good quality food. Veterinary treatment is sought at the first sign of illness, and you will be informed of any treatment that you cat or kitten has received since it has been in our care.

Wherever possible the cat or kitten will be tested for FIV/FeLV (Feline Aids Virus and Feline Leukaemia Virus); spayed or neutered; vaccinated against cat flu and enteritis; flea'd and wormed. They will also be fitted with a microchip which acts as a way of identifying the animal. Every cat we rescue is checked for a microchip, and should a cat have a microchip every effort will be made to reunite the cat with its rightful owner. If for any reason we are unable to complete any of the above you will be informed.

The microchip company have been informed that once a cat has been re-homed, in the unlikely event that they are unable to contact the new owner the cat is to be returned to the care of Wizz Catz Rescue ensuring that every cat that comes through our doors is looked after for life.  Once re-homed we may require access to your home to ensure the welfare of your new pet and to help you with any problems that may arise. Behavioural assistance is free of charge and given at all stages of adoption.
